Classroom Training |
|
Come down to our corporate headquarters for a two-day training session in sunny San Diego! The benefit of classroom education is that it removes you from everyday distractions and frees your mind to focus on learning how to properly use the software.
Choosing the right attendees is critical for maximizing the training experience and for having the software successfully integrated into your company's day-to-day operations. We recommend that your company send shop (in-house) and on-site estimators, because these individuals would benefit from being directly trained by us. Following is our reasoning:
The number of estimators needing to be trained on the software would depend on your company size. Having more than one person being trained is advisable because each can refresh the other on training procedures that may have been forgotten (two heads are better than one). Plus, in the event an estimator leaves your company, you have a backup.
Adequately trained estimators have the added responsibility of using our training videos and their own knowledge of the software to educate other members of your estimating team that were unable to attend the formal training. So be certain all attendees are positively committed to the software decision, training, and implementation of this software into your company's operation. They should be able to retain and relay their knowledge, and oversee internal education when necessary.
Your $800.00 education budget will cover the cost of one attendee for both days (not including travel-related costs). A second attendee will cost $600, and a third (and beyond) will cost $400 per.

We recommend that your company send shop (in-house) and on-site estimators, because these individuals would benefit from being directly trained by us. Following is our reasoning:
- Shop estimators generally work from plans acquired from the internet or paper blueprints. They spend many hours laboring over prints, applying the finish schedule, calculating base, determining best layout for least amount of waste and assigning job estimate items to the total job. Being trained on the use of our software can conservatively reduce their estimating time by 60%.
- On-site estimators go to the job site and physically measure the building as they draw a representation of the site on a tablet. The drawing with the measurements is then used to calculate layouts, the products being used, job estimate items, etc. This too can be laborious and subject to error in the event of even a single missed measurement. Our classroom training shows the estimator how to use SiteDraw, our field measuring software, along with a laser to rapidly and precisely draw the job site on a Windows tablet or an iPad. This drawing imports directly into our estimation software without having to be redrawn. Learning how to use this equipment in the field is invaluable and a tremendous time saver.

About the San Diego Area |
|
Plan on Spending an Extra day or two!
San Diego is a dynamic and interesting city. Discovered in 1542 by Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, it's a city rich in Spanish, Mexican and American history. From historic Old Town to modern day attractions like the Reuben H. Fleet Space Theater and the Science Center, San Diego offers something for every-one.
You are just a short drive from both Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, as well as Cabrillo National Monument and the Wild Animal Park.
San Diego is a great place to indulge your palette. For an experience to remember, visit the Gaslamp Quarter with over eighty restaurants or possibly try some authentic Mexican food in Old Town.
Just thirty minutes away you can spend the day exploring the quaint and enchanting village of La Jolla, with its many upscale shops and breathtaking coastline, or head to Coronado Island to visit the Hotel Del Coronado, full of celebrity history and a marvel in 19th century craftsmanship. The beautiful adjoining beach is a great place to put your feet in the sand as you enjoy the view. Be sure to bring your camera and lots of film.
If it’s golfing you like, San Diego is arguably one of the world’s greatest golf destinations. More than 65 courses are available in the surrounding area. With an average winter temperature of 65 degrees and a mild, dry summer, the weather is generally agreeable for a great round of golf. Since San Diego is a desert climate, we recommend a jacket for cool evenings.
