System Requirements

Both JobRunner and FloorManager run on Claris’ FileMaker platform. Below are system requirements for running either JobRunner, FloorManager, or both applications. Systems that deviate below the requirements will result in loss of optimal performance. All requirements are based on use Claris FileMaker’s baseline recommendations, internal testing, and real world production performance review. We recommend the use of name brand equipment, designed for business use, with a 3-year extended onsite warranty.

If you are an existing client, your server requirements may vary based on the number of transactions and data in your system. While the above specifications give general hardware requirements, please consult with our technicians for any further requirements for your existing Pacific Solutions management system. Printers and Networking

  • If you are hosting an on-premise server, Pacific Solutions recommends that you obtain internet service (Typically Fiber) with a minimum download speed of 20mbps or greater AND upload speed of 10mbps or greater so that performance is acceptable for your remote users.  
  • A Hewlett Packard ink-jet or laser printer. The ink jet cartridges and toner for HP are available at nearly every office supply making them very convenient. Their printers are also very durable. The printer needs the capability of being used in a network environment.
  • All of the necessary cables for the above equipment. A quality/economical Ethernet hub, with a minimum of 8 ports. 100 BT Minimum, and Category 5 Ethernet cables or Faster. (Between each computer or printer and the hub)
  • Microsoft TCP-IP Networking Protocols
  • For stability and speed on the local area network, Pacific Solutions recommends wired networks rather than wireless networks.
You will need a local network administrator who is certified in Microsoft Small Business Networking. Although Pacific Solutions will be more than happy to interact with your network administrator, Pacific Solutions does not provide network troubleshooting or services.

Wide Area Networking
For optimal performance Pacific Solutions requires RDP sessions used in conjunction with a VPN for remote access.
