a software solution that is designed to quickly and accurately quantify all materials to be used when bidding a project. Pacific Solutions offers two versions of FloorRight that are built around feature-sets more specific to either commercial or residential needs.
Before your estimator begins drawing the rooms, he/she will need to set up the finish schedule materials such as tile, wood, carpet, pattern material, wall base, or transitions. If required, FloorRight can generate carpet tile in any hexagonal, herringbone, or other repeating pattern. The program will accurately calculate the quantities of material and waste needed to bid a job.
3. Draw the Rooms
To draw and fill the rooms with material, your estimator will use the "line draw tool" or "rectangle tool." The "line draw tool" maps rooms that are not square or rectangular by clicking through the corners of a room. The "rectangle tool," however, can handle square or rectangular rooms with even greater efficiency. Your estimator can also draw rooms with the "free draw tool" when working from a hand-drawn sketch, or no plan at all.
4. Add Transitions
Your estimator can add a transition of any size by using the "add door tool" or by selecting a specific wall. FloorRight can calculate the transition based upon length or count.
5. Add Base
Base can be added to any simultaneously-selected walls. Even after adding doors to rooms, FloorRight is able to filter which walls receive base and which do not.
6. Add Materials in 3D
In FloorRight 3D, your estimator can extrude walls and cut out holes for niches or windows. He/she can also add patterns and create tile accents. Using the "adjust grid tool," he/she can change the position of a material's tile grid. Showers, curbs, benches, and backsplashes are just a few examples of what can be created with FloorRight 3D.
7. Estimate the Job
With FloorRight, all the material and labor quantities are immediately transferred to the job cost estimate page. Your estimator can add additional "user-created waste" to a material. On the Job Estimate page, the user can put in a cost for all items shown whether they are labor or material charges. Evaluate materials on a room-by-room basis, or evaluate them on a product-by-product basis.
8. Generate Reports
Send out one of the stock-cut reports for your installer to learn where the cuts of material will be placed, or print the room report to show the designer or client how the rooms will look and where the seams will be located. FloorRight can print an image of your 3D rooms showing how the 3D layout looks on all walls, floors and backsplashes.
9. Integrate with Management
Once the takeoff has been completed, material data from the job estimate page can be exported to JobRunner or FloorManager, our in-house management solutions, to begin a new quote. JobRunner can import customer contact details, materials, and service items into the job cost estimate, eliminating redundant data entry.
